Gateley Smithers Purslow expands with new Glasgow office and two appointments

Gateley Smithers Purslow (GSP), the leading multi-disciplinary surveying, engineering and architecture practice, has expanded its presence in Scotland with a new Glasgow office base and two key appointments.

The Glasgow team is led by technical director, Kenny McInally. He joined the business in 2021 and has a strong background in commercial building surveying alongside extensive experience within the insurance sector. Kenny was brought in to head up and increase GSP’s presence in Scotland and has since made two additional appointments to support this growth strategy.

Beke Tshabalala has joined the team as a graduate building surveyor and is working towards gaining his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become a chartered building surveyor. In his role, Beke supports the many various disciplines of the building surveying and insurance industry that GSP undertakes for its clients.

Matthew McDowell has been appointed as a placement building surveyor. Matthew is currently studying for a Surveying Engineering degree and attends Glasgow Caledonian University one day a week which he undertakes in addition to his role at GSP. Matthew works closely with Kenny and Beke to gain vital practical experience, as required by his degree course, as well as supporting the Glasgow team with his strong AutoCAD skills.

Kenny McInally comments: “Since I have joined Gateley Smithers Purslow, the company has continued to rapidly increase its workload across Scotland. As a result, it was important to establish a new Glasgow office base and increase our headcount to service the whole country. Due to the nature of our work and our strong position in the insurance world, Beke and Matthew will gain valuable experience across a variety of commercial property and insurance matters, ensuring that our team will be well equipped to service all of our clients’ needs.”

Gateley Smithers Purslow is the multi-disciplinary arm of the legal and professional services group, Gateley. Its new Glasgow office is based within Pure Offices on Hillington Park and will be used by the team to service the whole of Scotland.
