Smithers Purslow's specialist Bridges and Highways Department has extensive experience ranging from feasibility and transportation studies, through design and contract preparation, to inspection and assessment of completed schemes.

We have designed bridge strengthening and replacement schemes in a wide range of materials and carried out independent design checks for new structures. Our civil engineers specialise in the development of sites and the redevelopment of urban areas. We aim to be involved in projects as early as possible to ensure that we can assess any possible risks or constraints on a site.

Our civil engineers also produce designs for highways and external works either independently or associated with building developments. We provide a comprehensive service for contractors and developers including drainage design, pumping stations, control chambers, balancing ponds, culverts and headwalls.
