Steve has a key role in leading the formulation of the firm's strategy and the development of its business management systems. In addition to his management role, Steve is experienced in a wide range of civil and structural engineering design, structural investigations, expert witness reports, building insurance claims, bridges and highway structures. He has been a Professional Reviewer with the Institution of Civil Engineers since 1999 and is an East Midlands Business Champion with EMDA.

Graeme is a graduate of De Montfort University. Having joined Smithers Purslow & Co, an East Midlands Civil and Structural engineering consultancy practice in 1988, he became the company's first Chartered Building Surveyor. Since that time, Graeme has focused much of his time and interest in exploring and developing opportunities that revolve around structural damage to residential dwellings and the insurance claim market.

In recent years, Graeme has been instrumental in exploiting opportunities on a national scale via SP Property Services, which provides innovative and commoditised professional services to the building insurance claim sector. In the subsidence arena, SPPS are the largest independent provider of crack and level monitoring services handling significant volume on a national basis.

Andrew is a Chartered Building Surveyor. He obtained a first class honours degree in building surveying at the University of Salford. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the Association of Building Engineers. From 1998-2000 Andrew obtained a Diploma in Architectural Conservation at De Montfort University.

Andrew heads up the Building Surveying Department and his main specialisms are historic properties, insurance claim resolution and party wall matters.

Paul is a graduate of Nottingham Trent University and gained several years design and consulting experience prior to becoming Chartered in 1988. He joined Smithers Purslow in 1982.

Paul is a Technical Director and heads the Engineering Department of Smithers Purslow. Paul is experienced in a wide range of civil, structural and building engineering design, structural investigations and building insurance claims.

Ken graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1994 and gained several years' design and consulting experience prior to becoming Chartered in 2001. He joined Smithers Purslow in July 2001 and became an Associate in 2004. Ken is mainly involved in the design of building structures, assisting and advising Clients from inception through to completion on a wide range of projects from refurbishment of existing buildings to new schools and factories.

Nathan is a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University and gained his degree in Building Surveying, prior to joining Smithers Purslow in 1998 having completed a year's placement with the Company. Nathan became Chartered in 2000 and was welcomed as an Associate to the Company in 2004.

Nathan is an integral part of the Building Surveying team and has experience in a variety of fields, including building surveying, asbestos audits, party wall legislation and CDM regulations. He has also gained extensive experience in dealing with building insurance claims, particularly with those aspects of subsidence.

A keen sportsman, Nathan enjoys mountain biking, running and football.

Chris is a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University and gained his degree in Building Surveying, prior to joining Smithers Purslow in June 2001. Chris qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in June 2007 and became an Associate of the Company in the same year.

Chris specialises in Acquisition Surveys and Defect Diagnosis, Party Wall, CDM, Project Management and Major Insurance Claims.

In his spare time Chris competes in triathlons, he also enjoys playing golf and travelling.
